DIRECTIONS
"Preparing well rounded leaders through academic excellence for over 40 years."

There is much more to living in on-campus housing than the necessities of a bed, desk, phone, etc. Your UCSD education extends beyond the classroom into the residence halls and apartments through our outstanding Residence Life program.

The Revelle residential facilities provide a positive and supportive community environment where supplemental learning occurs through programs offered by the Residence Life staff. Numerous opportunities for social interactions, personal growth, and educational programs are available. We encourage you to become actively involved in your Revelle community!

We refer to the buildings within Revelle Residence Life as "residence halls" and apartments not "dorms". A dorm is basically a place to sleep. In a residence hall and in our apartments, you are a member of an enriching living/learning community of peers. It is your home for the school year.

"Dedicated for an Active Community."

Pictured on the Left are the Revelle Res Life Professional Staff.

Their duties include: supervising and training the Resident Advisor staff and College Center/Student Activity Center staff, facilitating the individual growth and development of residents within the Revelle community, overseeing RA programming efforts, counseling residents, working through personal, academic or behavioral difficulties, advising RHA and APB representatives, and coordinating maintenance and custodial services with the Housing Facilities staff.

There is one Resident Advisor (RA) per floor in Argo and Blake and one RA in each building in the Fleet and in the Matthews apartments.

The RAs are students--like yourself--who have been competitively selected. They are well trained to assist and support you in any way they can. They serve as peer counselors, advisors, programmers, policy enforcers, and friends who are extremely knowledgeable about Revelle and University resources. If they don’t know the answers, they’ll find out! They are definitely interested in hearing your ideas for activities and programs that you want to see for your community. Please get to know your RA--they will make every attempt to get to know you.

Please don’t forget that RAs are also full-time students--they have academic demands and study needs similar to your own. Your RA is not required to be in his/her room all the time; he/she requires and deserves personal, private and relaxation time, too. Therefore, there will probably be occasions when your RA may not be readily available to you. Please leave a note for him/her or contact the Revelle Residence Life office (534-3025). Your RA will contact you as soon as possible.
